Re: Façade Improvement Grants

Dear Property Owners:

I am pleased to announce that the Borough of Manville has received yet another Somerset County Economic Improvement Program grant for Façade Improvements. This year’s grant is for $75,000 which brings Manville’s total façade grants received to $315,000. Since the program funds up to 50% of the façade improvement costs, we have seen nearly $750,000 in total for improvements to your fellow property owners. To date, sixteen buildings have had façade improvements, and I think you will agree those buildings are an asset to the business community.

Please do not let this opportunity pass to make improvements at a reduced cost to your building façade. I understand that today’s economy may prevent you from doing major improvements, however, then please consider such small things as new awnings, signage, and door fronts.

Applications can be picked up at the Borough Hall, or we will mail them to you. For program details and information, please contact Gary Garwacke, Borough Administrator at 908-725-9478 x 103. The application deadline is December 1, 2008. We intend to notify the successful applicants in early 2009 so that you may begin your project in the Spring.

Very truly yours,

Lillian M. Zuza
Mayor
